Mold Steel Material Selection & Quality Inspection for Injection Mold

Mold steel acts as the core substrate of injection molds, which fundamentally defines the mold’s service life, forming accuracy and operational stability. To match diverse production requirements, our mold steel selection follows strict standards based on plastic material types, production volume, product appearance grade and practical application scenarios.

We configure targeted mold steel grades for different molding needs. P20 and 718H pre-hardened mold steel are ideal for mass production of ordinary plastic products, delivering stable performance and high cost performance. S136 mirror stainless steel features outstanding corrosion resistance and polishing ability, perfectly suited for high-transparency and high-gloss plastic parts. For processing high-wear and high-corrosion plastic materials, H13 and NAK80 premium mold steel are applied as standard raw materials.

All incoming mold steel blanks undergo strict non-destructive flaw detection to remove defective materials with internal cracks and impurities. Qualified standard blanks will be processed with annealing, quenching and tempering heat treatment. This professional process eliminates internal steel stress, effectively preventing deformation and cracking during machining and mass production, and optimizes cutting performance to support high-precision mold manufacturing
