Bamboo fiber tableware generally has safety risks

Recently, many customers have more concerns when choosing bamboo fiber tableware. This is because on November 25, 2019, the German Federal Agency for Consumer Protection and Food Safety (BfR) released a risk assessment study on bamboo fiber tableware.

Studies have shown that bamboo fiber tableware can easily dissolve formaldehyde and melamine. In the formaldehyde dissolution test of 228 bamboo fiber tableware, the failure rate of products reached 31%; in the melamine dissolution test of 180 bamboo fiber tableware, the failure rate was 35%.

Note: The experimental conditions are 70℃, 2h. And, most of the time, bamboo fiber tableware releases more formaldehyde and melamine than traditional pure melamine tableware. In December of the same year, the National Light Industry Food Quality Supervision and Inspection Nanjing Station, in conjunction with Nanjing University of Technology released the "Safety Research of Commercial Melamine Tableware", which analyzed the dissolution of harmful substances in melamine tableware at 40℃ and 70℃. The conclusion is that the amount of harmful substances dissolved at 70°C is much higher than that at 40°C.

If you really want to use bamboo fiber tableware it, you must keep in mind the following "three notes":

1. Don't buy products with irregular labels:

See clearly whether the tableware lists the implementation standards, whether the name of the resin is clearly marked, and such tableware should be replaced regularly.

2. Do not use in high temperature and acidic environment:

Melamine, the thermosetting plastic in bamboo fiber tableware, is very unstable in high temperature and acidic environment, so these two strong stimulating environments should be avoided when using it.

3. Do not "roughly" clean:Do not use steel wool or other hard objects to scrub, so as not to scratch the surface of the tableware, resulting in increased dissolution of harmful substances. And Normally Bamboo fiber tableware always printed  with "MELAMINE" on the bottom.

You can choose the bamboo fiber tableware of Shenzhen Kanghao Industrial Co., Ltd. Our tableware is made of bamboo fiber and PP.

No melamine is added, and it has been tested by FDA and LFGB, you can safely use high-temperature food and microwave heating.
