You don't know the new material PLA

 Polylactic acid, also known as polylactide, belongs to the polyester family.Poly (lactic acid) (PLA) is a kind of polymer with lactic acid as the main raw material.Poly (lactic acid) is an ideal green polymer material because of its pollution-free production process and its biodegradability.Polylactic acid (PLA) is a new kind of biodegradable material, which is made from starch extracted from renewable plant resources (such as corn) through fermentation process, and then converted into PLA through polymer synthesis.


Advantages of PLA:

 

 1. Polylactic acid has excellent biodegradability. It can be completely degraded by microorganisms in the soil within one year after being discarded, generating carbon dioxide and water, and no pollution to the environment.Truly "from nature, to nature"! World's carbon dioxide emissions in 2030, according to news reports in global temperature will rise to 60 , common plastic processing methods is still burning cremation, caused a large number of greenhouse gases into the air, and is buried in the soil degradation of poly (lactic acid) (PLA), the carbon dioxide directly into the soil organic matter or is absorbed by plants, not into the air, won't cause the greenhouse effect.

 

 2. PLA is suitable for blow molding, injection molding and other processing methods. It is easy to process and widely used.It can be used to process all kinds of food containers, packagings, snack boxes, non-woven fabrics, industrial and civil fabrics from industry to civil.And then processed into agricultural fabric, health care fabric, dishcloth, sanitary articles, outdoor anti-ULTRAVIOLET fabric, tent cloth, floor mat surface and so on, the market prospect is very good.It can be seen that its mechanical and physical properties are good.


3. Polylactic acid (PLA) is similar in basic physical properties to petrified synthetic plastics, that is, it can be widely used in the manufacture of a variety of applications.Poly (lactic acid) also has a good gloss and transparency, comparable to those made from polystyrene, which is not available in other biodegradable products.


4. Good compatibility and degradability.Polylactic acid is also widely used in the field of medicine, such as disposable infusion appliances, non-detachable surgical sutures, etc., low molecular polylactic acid as a drug sustained-release packaging agent, etc.


5, polylactic acid (PLA) has the good tensile strength and the degree of stretch, polylactic acid also can produce all kinds of ordinary processing methods, such as: melt extrusion molding, injection molding, film forming, foaming molding and vacuum forming, with the current widely used polymer have similar forming condition, furthermore it also has the same as the traditional film printing performance.In this way, PLA can be made into a variety of application products according to the needs of different industries.


6.When polylactic acid (PLA) is incinerated, its combustion heat value is the same as that of incinerated paper, which is half of that of traditional plastics (such as polyethylene). Moreover, no toxic gases such as nitrates and sulfides are released by incineration of PLA.The human body also contains lactic acid in monomer form, which indicates the safety of this decomposing product.


7. Polylactic acid (PLA) film has good air permeability, oxygen permeability and dioxide-dicarbon permeability, and it also has the property of odor isolation.Viruses and molds easily adhere to the surface of biodegradable plastics, so there are concerns about safety and hygiene. However, PLA is the only biodegradable plastics with excellent antibacterial and anti-mildew properties.

 

 In the resource conservation, environmental protection is becoming more and more important today, plastic can be replaced and upgraded?The extensive use of polylactic acid (PLA), a biodegradable material, can not only alleviate the resource dependence brought by the "oil crisis", but also completely eradicate the white pollution.China should promote the rapid development of PLA industry, said Ren Jie, a professor at Tongji University and a famous expert on polymer materials.

 

 Ren Jie said that the advantages of PLA mainly include: first, raw materials are easy to be recycled, suitable for large-scale intensive production;Second, permeability, transparency, gloss and hardness, tensile and bending modulus can be compared with the traditional plastic resin;The third is better biocompatibility.Its monomer raw material L-lactic acid is an endogenous active substance of human body. Therefore, polylactic acid products are non-toxic and non-repellent to human body, and can be absorbed by human body. They can be made into medical tissue skeleton materials and medical carriers for safe use in human body, and have been certified by THE US FDA.Fourth, it is completely biodegradable.Buried in soil for six to 12 months, it degrades into carbon dioxide and water.
